Bob from the RSPCA came into school on Tuesday with a beautiful border collie named Skye who was a rescue dog and is now his pet. He spoke to the children about the work the RSPCA does throughout the UK. This involves educating people, caring for animals and campaigning to help enforce the law to prevent cruelty to animals. The RSPCA is the world’s oldest animal welfare charity protecting and caring for animals for almost 200 years! Skye had a very poor start in life with owners who didn’t really care for him and when he was hit by a car, suffering broken bones and a punctured lung, was left at the side of the road. It was the RCPCA who took him in and nursed him back to health – and what a wonderful natured, healthy dog he is today! Bob was also here to congratulate Tessa on winning a competition they had recently ran .
