All teachers have given pupils Home Learning packs with activities for their pupils to use during self-isolation or school closure.
In addition, please keep a look out for more activities set by the teachers via Tapestry.
Reception pupils have a Home Learning Code that they can enter or scan to access Seesaw. This can be accessed on their website or you can download the app from the Apple or Google Play store. Pupils can view activities set by their teachers and upload their responses via photos, video, text or sound recordings. The teachers are absolutely loving seeing all the work from their pupils.
Autumn term in Class 1 was a very busy and exciting time. It was a time of getting to know each other, learning new rules and routines and settling in to life at Canon Pyon. We all enjoyed our topic on ‘Bears’ and shared stories such as ‘Going on a Bear Hunt’, ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears’ and ‘Brown Bear, Brown Bear What do you See?’ We had a lovely morning at the woods, looking for signs of change as we moved into Autumn and we even visited Father Christmas at Madley. We had lots of opportunities to cook together, making porridge like Mummy Bear, apple crumble and tasty biscuits.
We are looking forward to a busy term ahead of us. Our topic is ‘Down on the Farm’ so needless to say a few trips and exciting activities have been planned for us all to enjoy. We will be using stories such as ‘The Little Red Hen’ and ‘What the Ladybird Heard’ as the starting points and inspiration for our topic and can’t wait to see the direction which our learning journey takes us.
