The school day begins at 8:45am promptly, if you are late after the closing of the gate please enter the school via the office entrance. The school day is divided as follows:
Morning Session: 8:45am-12 noon
Afternoon Session: 1:00pm-3:15pm
There is a mid-morning break for 15 minutes for both Key Stages at 10:30am. Children also have 10 minutes afternoon ‘brain break’ at the teacher’s discretion.
Children should not arrive at school early unless they are attending the Breakfast Club. The Club runs from 7:45am until 8.30am when the school takes over. There is a small charge for attendance at the Club. Please speak to Mrs Simpson in the office if you would like your child to attend.
A member of staff is on duty from 8.30am at the gate to welcome your child. We have a drop and leave system at the gate. This is to ensure safeguarding your children on the school grounds and to keep the small car park from being a danger. If you would like to arrange to speak to your child’s class teacher, please make a mutually convenient appointment at the office.
The time spent on teaching during the normal week is 21.25 hours for Key Stage 1 and 22.5 hours for Key Stage 2, excluding the statutory daily act of worship, registration, breaks and lunch.
Your child’s class teacher or cover supervisor will see your child to you at the end of the day. It is vital that the office are aware that your child needs to be on the bus at the end of the day so we can account for all children. If you would like to speak with your class teacher at the end of the day, this is usually no problem. However, if for some reason they are unable to see, you are still able to make an appointment for another time.
